Confession is part of the redemption process. The scriptures covers two parts, an open profession of faith and an acknowledment of sins to God.
Luke 12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: Leviticus 005:005 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing: 016:021 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: Psalms 032:005 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. Romans 010:010 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Philippians 002:011 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. James 005:016 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 1 John 004:015 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 1 John 001:009 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Matthew 018:015 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
1 John 1:008 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1:009 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1:010 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
